The Stakeholder Roundtables Report

What did women, employers, educators and sector professionals tell us?

The Stakeholder Roundtables Report brings the research into conversation with the people who work, recruit, manage and teach across the sector.

Five consultation sessions were held in Ireland, France, Portugal and Ukraine, involving 60 participants across in-person, online and hybrid formats. These included industry representatives, educators, professional networks, public bodies and two smaller Women’s Circles in France.

Why Our Report Matters?

Our Stakeholder Roundtables Report brings the VINTA research directly to the people working across the drinks sector. Through five consultation sessions in Ireland, France, Portugal and Ukraine, employers, educators, sector organisations and other stakeholders tested the findings against their own experience and helped identify what needs to change in practice.

The discussions confirmed that women’s progression is shaped not only by access to training, but also by mentoring, workplace culture, flexible working, clearer career pathways and more transparent progression systems. These insights help ensure that VINTA’s next steps and learning resources respond to the real needs of women and the wider sector.
The report tests whether the Gender Mapping findings reflect real experiences across the sector. It asks:

• Do the findings feel accurate in practice?
• Are there important national or sector differences?
• Which barriers are most urgent?
• What changes would be realistic for employers and educators?
• Where can VINTA make the greatest practical contribution?

The discussions broadly confirmed that the main challenge is progression rather than participation alone.

This resource is for:

• Employers, managers and HR teams
• Education and training providers
• Sector bodies and professional networks
• Policymakers and public organisations
• Anyone planning a mentoring, training or workplace initiative

Use the report to:
• Start a discussion with your team or network
• Shape a mentoring or sponsorship programme
• Review how training opportunities are communicated
• Plan a stakeholder event or Women’s Circle
• Adapt wider recommendations to your own national or organisational setting
The report is a consultation synthesis rather than a population survey. It adds lived experience and practical context to the wider research evidence.
