Creating Better Pathways for Women in Brewing, Distilling and Winemaking

Explore the research, hear from women and sector professionals, and discover practical ways to support greater progression, leadership and opportunity.

Women are already making a major contribution across brewing, distilling and winemaking. Yet as roles gain technical authority, leadership responsibility and decision-making power, women’s representation often begins to narrow.

VINTA’s three foundational industry resources explore this challenge from different angles.

  1. The Gender Mapping and Benchmarking Report establishes the evidence.
  2. The Stakeholder Roundtables Report tests that evidence against real sector experience.
  3. The Eye Opener Report brings everything together in an accessible guide to practical action.

Who are these resources for?

These resources are designed for drinks producers, owners, managers and HR teams; VET, higher education and professional training providers; sector associations, networks and policymakers; and women entering, progressing or leading across the drinks value chain.

Stakeholders Roundtable Report

What did women, employers, educators and sector professionals tell us?

The Stakeholder Roundtables Report brings the research into conversation with the people who work, recruit, manage and teach across the sector.

Five consultation sessions were held in Ireland, France, Portugal and Ukraine, involving 60 participant attendances across in-person, online and hybrid formats. These included industry representatives, educators, professional networks, public bodies and two smaller Women’s Circles in France.
